How to buy LGS/CFS steel from NewCon Steel
NewCon Steel® manufactures and supplies cold-formed steel from Panama. You can request individual profiles, preassembled panels or a structural kit. The choice determines what is fabricated at the plant and which tasks your contractor carries out on site.
Compare the level of supply
| Option | What you request | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| LGS/CFS profiles | Cut, punched and identified pieces according to the component schedule. | Sections, thicknesses in mm, lengths, quantities and on-site assembly drawings. |
| Preassembled panels | Structural assemblies put together at the plant. | Transport dimensions, identification, erection sequence and lifting requirements. |
| Structural kit | A set of components for the defined building structure. | Material list, connections, accessories, engineering and quotation exclusions. |
Initial material specification
NewCon Steel publishes sheet thicknesses from 0.85 to 2.5 mm, a Zn-Al-Mg coating of 275 g/m² total across both faces, and CNC tolerance of ±0.5 mm. Confirm the specification and batch certificates in the offer. Section, thickness, connections and exposure protection must be selected through the design process.
Information for a quotation
- Country, city, delivery address or port, and target date.
- Use, area, floors and available drawings with revision references.
- Profiles, panels or kit; quantities and required thicknesses.
- Load criteria and design standard supplied by the project engineer.
- Environmental exposure, coating and traceability requirements.
- Responsibilities for transport, unloading, storage and erection.
Documents to review before ordering
Request a quotation with scope and exclusions, bill of materials, shop drawings, calculations where applicable, material certificates, component identification, packaging, schedule and delivery terms. Review engineering and standards and technical documentation. Product documents should match the quoted product and project.
Technical context
Frequently asked questions
Does NewCon Steel sell completed buildings?
NewCon Steel manufactures and supplies steel; it does not perform construction. A structural kit does not automatically include foundations, envelope, services, finishes or installation. Contact SmartBrix Construction, PEB Group’s construction company, if you need a building contractor.
How do I choose profiles, panels or a kit?
Choose according to your contractor’s scope and the required level of prefabrication. Profiles require on-site assembly; panels arrive preassembled; a kit brings together the structural components defined in the order. Always confirm the supply list.
What does a 275 g/m² coating mean?
NewCon Steel’s published specification is a zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy coating of 275 g/m² total across both faces. It is not 275 g/m² per face or a guarantee of service life in every environment. Request the material certificate and a specification appropriate to the exposure.
How should I specify profile thickness?
State sheet thickness in millimetres and the required section. NewCon Steel publishes a range of 0.85 to 2.5 mm. Avoid comparing offers only by a gauge number, since conversions can differ; confirm thickness and tolerance in writing.
Is there a fixed price per square metre?
There is no single rate suitable for every supply scope. Price depends on quantities, sections, thicknesses, design, prefabrication, accessories and delivery conditions. Request a quotation with a bill of materials; steel supply cost is different from total construction cost.
Who designs and installs the structure?
The proposal should identify engineering scope and delivered documents. NewCon Steel supplies components; erection is performed by the buyer’s appointed contractor or under a separate construction contract with SmartBrix. Confirm responsibilities for foundations, anchors, unloading and lifting.
What should I confirm for an export order?
Confirm the port or address, delivery terms, packaging, transport, insurance, unloading, origin documentation and customs procedures. Duties and preferential treatment depend on destination rules and authorities; do not assume tax-free importation.
How long does supply take?
Lead time is confirmed against design, quantities, drawing approval, available capacity and destination logistics. Published monthly plant capacity is not a delivery promise for an individual order. Ask for separate approval, production, dispatch and arrival dates.
