Complete structural kits: the whole building structure on one purchase order
One PO, one party accountable for the steel, one set of calculations — and your own crew or any contractor erects it.
A NewCon Steel structural kit is the supply of a building's complete structure — profiles, panels, connections and accessories — delivered on a single purchase order, together with the structural model and the structural calculations signed by a licensed engineer for the code of the destination country.
What is inside a structural kit
A kit is a scope decision: you stop buying steel in pieces and start buying the structure as one deliverable, with one party accountable for the take-off.
The NewCon Steel structural kit contains every piece of steel that holds the building up: LGS/CFS profiles cut and punched, pre-assembled panels, connections and fastening accessories, plus the documentation you need to erect it and to get it approved.
It is quoted and shipped as a single purchase order. That means one bill of materials, one take-off, one fabrication schedule and one shipment — not five suppliers arguing over whose part is missing.
- LGS/CFS profiles from 0.85 to 2.5 mm, cut, punched, marked and labeled.
- Pre-assembled panels: walls, floor cassettes and trusses, numbered and sequenced.
- Connections, plates and system fastening accessories.
- Structural model and shop drawings for the take-off.
- Structural calculations signed by a licensed engineer for the destination code.
- Mill certificate and Panamanian certificate of origin.
The kit arrives with the calculations, not with a promise
The steel in a NewCon Steel kit is designed to AISI S100-16 (R2020) with Supplement 3 (S3-22) for the members, AISI S240-20 for the framing system and AISI S400-20 for seismic design, with loads to ASCE/SEI 7-22.
Verification is run against the structural code of the destination country: REP-2021 in Panama — in force since 30 April 2023 — NSR-10 in Colombia, and IBC / ASCE 7 in the Caribbean and the United States, in the edition your jurisdiction has adopted.
The group's structural engineering and modeling are developed by Pre-Engineered Buildings Corp, the parent company of the PEB Corp Group. The kit ships with sealed structural calculations and with the shop drawings for the take-off.

A NewCon Steel kit against imported steel, the local shop and concrete
Compared by supplier category, not by brand. Every cell in the NewCon column corresponds to a document we hand you with the order.
| Criterion | NewCon Steel® (Panama) | Imported steel (Asia) | Local fabricator / job shop | Reinforced concrete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Origin and transit | Manufactured in Panama City; regional transit in days | Production plus a transpacific crossing: weeks of ocean freight and customs | Short in theory; capped by the shop's capacity | Not applicable: built in place |
| Scope of the purchase | Complete structure on a single purchase order | Material by lot; the take-off is the buyer's problem | Varies; frequently element by element | Materials and labor priced separately |
| Design standard | AISI S100-16 (R2020) w/S3-22 and AISI S240-20; verified against REP-2021, NSR-10 or IBC/ASCE 7 | Standard varies; equivalence has to be demonstrated | Varies; frequently no sealed calculations | ACI 318 or the local code |
| Sealed structural calculations | Included in the kit, signed by a licensed engineer | Rarely included; the buyer contracts them separately | Sometimes | Contracted by the project |
| Dimensional tolerance | ±0.5 mm, CNC-controlled piece by piece | Varies; no piece-level traceability | Depends on the shop; hand cutting is common | Field tolerances (centimeters) |
| Traceability | From the piece label back to the originating steel coil | Heat certificate for the lot, on request | Limited | Not applicable |
| Coating | Zn-Al-Mg 275 g/m² total both sides (ZM275 / ZMM275), applied to the originating coil | Varies; check the actual mass on the mill certificate | Frequently cold galvanizing or paint applied on site | Not applicable |
| Field welding | None: bolted and screwed connections | Common | Common | Not applicable |
| Risk of field rework | Low: pieces cut, punched, marked and labeled from the model | High: generic pieces, cut and fitted on site | Medium to high | High: formwork, curing, weather dependency |
| Structure self-weight | Low: less demand on the foundation | Low | Low to medium | High |
| Minimum order | No full-container MOQ | Typically a full container | Varies | Not applicable |
| Who answers when you file a claim | A plant in the region, in your time zone, backed by the PEB Corp Group | A counterparty twelve time zones away, with the container already on the ground | Local | Not applicable |
| Origin documentation | Panamanian certificate of origin; preferential treatment per the applicable agreement and the destination customs authority | Asian origin; duty treatment per the destination's tariff schedule, absent an applicable agreement | Local origin | Not applicable |
The third-party columns are market generalizations, not statements about any one supplier: check them against the offer you are evaluating. The final duty on any import is determined by the customs authority of the destination country, based on its national tariff schedule, the applicable agreement and the classification of the goods.

Standards and codes
The exact scope of the kit is locked in during take-off engineering, before fabrication. What is not in the take-off is not in the kit: that is why the take-off is validated with you before anything is produced.

Certificate of originAnd if you also need someone to build it?
NewCon Steel manufactures and ships the steel; it does not execute construction. If, on top of the kit, you need someone to put the building up, that is the group's construction unit: SmartBrix Construction. And if the project needs engineering and institutional delivery, the group's parent is Pre-Engineered Buildings Corp. If you already have a contractor, we sell you the kit direct and your crew erects it.
Structural kits: procurement questions
What exactly does a NewCon Steel structural kit include?
A NewCon Steel structural kit includes all of the building's structural steel — LGS/CFS profiles cut and punched, pre-assembled panels, connections and fastening accessories — plus the structural model, the shop drawings for the take-off, the structural calculations signed by a licensed engineer, the mill certificate and the Panamanian certificate of origin. It does not include foundations, building envelope, MEP, interior fit-out or erection labor: NewCon Steel supplies steel, not finished buildings.
Can I buy the kit from NewCon Steel and erect it with my own crew?
Yes. The NewCon Steel structural kit is designed to be put up by an erection crew, not by a fabrication shop: pieces arrive cut, punched, marked and labeled against the shop drawing, and the connections are bolted and screwed, with no field welding. NewCon Steel delivers the steel and the documentation; your contractor can erect it. If you would rather the group erect it, that is the sister construction unit, SmartBrix Construction.
Will the calculations that come with a NewCon Steel kit get me a permit in my country?
The NewCon Steel structural kit is delivered with structural calculations signed by a licensed engineer and verified against the structural code of the destination country: REP-2021 in Panama, NSR-10 in Colombia, and IBC / ASCE 7 in the Caribbean and the United States, in the edition your jurisdiction has adopted. The permit itself is filed by the project with your local authority: confirm with us, before fabrication, which code and which edition your jurisdiction requires.
How is a structural kit quoted — by linear meter, by m² or by ton?
A NewCon Steel structural kit is quoted against the project take-off, not against a generic rate: the price depends on the geometry, the profile thicknesses, the number of panels and the shipping terms to the destination. That is why we ask for drawings or a model before quoting. Loose profiles are quoted by linear meter or by ton and panels by m²; the kit is quoted as one scope. The formal quote goes out within 48 hours.
Why buy a kit from NewCon Steel instead of importing the steel from Asia?
A NewCon Steel kit is manufactured in Panama City: transit to Central America and the Caribbean is measured in days, not weeks, there is no transpacific crossing, and there is no full-container MOQ to clear. On top of that, the kit arrives with structural calculations sealed against the destination code and with piece-by-piece traceability — two things a generic imported lot of steel rarely brings — and your technical counterpart is in your time zone. The import duty, on the other hand, is always determined by your country's customs authority: no supplier decides that.
