02What happens after you send
From form to quote
Here are the four steps and when each one happens.
Acknowledgment and assignment
We receive your request, an engineer reviews it, and we confirm receipt. If a critical detail is missing, we ask for it in that same email.
Technical review
We review scope, profile family and thickness, level of pre-assembly, and the destination’s design code. We never quote blind.
Formal quote
In writing: supply scope, included documentation, shipping terms, and confirmed Incoterm. We don’t give figures over the phone.
Origin, documents, and scheduling
Once the order is confirmed, we coordinate classification and the Panamanian certificate of origin with your customs broker and schedule production against your site date.
03Before you write
What to include in your request
Each detail changes the price, the lead time, or the document we must issue. If you don’t have a detail yet, tell us and we’ll work with what you have.
Duty, stated plainly in the quote
We issue a Panamanian certificate of origin (HS 72.16) for the importer’s customs process; the destination customs authority decides the treatment. We quote on that basis, never on an assumed zero duty.
- Quantity: linear meters of profile, m² of panel, or metric tons of structure. If you don’t have it yet, send the built area and building type.
- Profile family and thickness, within 0.85–2.5 mm (0.033–0.098 in). If you don’t know, send the structural use and we will define it.
- Drawings, structural model, or takeoff, if they exist. Nothing speeds up a quote more.
- Scope: loose profiles, pre-assembled panels, a complete structural kit, or bolted structural steel?
- Destination country and city, and port or delivery point.
- Applicable design code: REP-2021 (Panama), NSR-10 (Colombia), IBC/ASCE 7 (Caribbean), or other.
- The Incoterm you want to compare under (EXW plant · FOB Panama · CIF/DDP destination) and your customs broker, if already appointed.
- Required on-site date and any critical window (season, academic calendar, contract milestone).
